Movie Overview
"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" is an upcoming superhero film produced by DC Films and New Line Cinema, and directed by David F. Sandberg. The movie is the sequel to the 2019 film "Shazam!" and is part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The story follows the adventures of Billy Batson, a teenager who can transform into the adult superhero Shazam by saying the magic word. In the sequel, Shazam and his foster siblings must face off against a new threat, the powerful demigod Hespera and her sister Kalypso. Along the way, they will discover new abilities and strengths, as well as face personal challenges that test their bonds as a family. The movie features the return of Zachary Levi as Shazam, alongside Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Faithe Herman as Billy's foster siblings. The cast also includes Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as the villains Hespera and Kalypso. "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" is currently in production and is scheduled to be released in June 2023. The movie is expected to have the same mix of humor, action, and heart that made the first film a hit, as well as introduce new and exciting characters to the DCEU
